How to add an animated logo to your email signature
Paraph · · 4 min read
An animated email signature pairs a moving logo or portrait with ordinary, readable contact details. Create the design, copy the formatted signature into your email app, and test it in the inboxes your recipients use.
In Paraph, Shatter, Glimmer and Shimmer animate your uploaded image. Your name, role and links remain separate text. Animation is included on paid plans; the free plan includes a static signature and downloadable social assets.
Start with a signature that works as a still
Keep motion small and purposeful. Your logo should remain recognisable when it stops, and someone should be able to find your contact details without waiting for an animation.
Check the first frame, contrast and image size before installing. A useful first frame matters because recipients can disable animations. Microsoft documents that Outlook can play animated GIFs and that application or operating-system settings can affect playback. A still image in one inbox does not mean every Outlook version is incompatible. Microsoft's animation troubleshooting.
Create the signature in Paraph
- Preview a theme and animation in the Paraph demo.
- Create an account or sign in to open your own signature editor.
- Add your contact details and upload your logo or portrait.
- Choose an animation on a paid plan and check the moving image and still frame.
- Use the editor's export controls and installation guidance for your email app.
The public demo animates a sample logo. Uploading your own image happens in the account editor.
Use the formatted copy
Paraph's Copy signature control places formatted content on your clipboard. Paste that into an email application's signature editor. Pasting HTML source code from a text file can display tags instead of your design.
The downloaded HTML file is useful for the file-based installation routes described in Paraph's export panel. If a browser blocks clipboard access, use the provided copy fallback or client-specific instructions.
Gmail in a browser
- Copy your signature from Paraph.
- In Gmail, open Settings → See all settings, then find Signature under General.
- Create or select a signature and paste the formatted content into its editor.
- Choose the signature defaults for new messages and replies.
- Save changes and open a new message to check the result.
Google's settings support signature formatting, images and defaults. If an image fails, check the hosted image and consult Gmail's troubleshooting rather than rebuilding the whole layout by hand. Gmail signature guidance.
New Outlook and Outlook on the web
Open Settings → Accounts → Signatures. Select the intended email account, create or edit its signature, and paste the formatted copy. Set the defaults for new messages and replies, then save. Menu wording can vary across Outlook versions. Microsoft's current signature instructions.
Classic Outlook for Windows
Open a new message and choose Signature → Signatures. Create a signature, paste the formatted copy and select the appropriate account and defaults. If Outlook changes the spacing, use Paraph's classic-Outlook HTML-file instructions in the export panel. Preserve your existing signature before replacing a file. Microsoft's classic-Outlook instructions.
Check both the composing window and a received message. Their appearance and animation behaviour may differ.
Apple Mail on Mac
Start in Mail → Settings → Signatures and select the intended account. Apple supports signature text, formatting and images, and lets you choose a default signature for that account. Apple's signature settings.
For Paraph's complete HTML layout, follow its Apple Mail guide in the export panel. That guide uses a placeholder signature and a local signature file; the file location depends on the macOS version and iCloud setup. Keep a copy of the original file and follow the displayed instructions instead of guessing a folder path. Verify the result after reopening Mail.
Test the result before using it broadly
Send a test message to an inbox you control and inspect it on desktop and mobile. Check the logo, readable contact details, working links and the still frame. If motion is disabled but the complete image remains visible, the fallback is doing its job. A broken image, unreadable text or missing links needs correction.
For a team, start from an approved master signature and brand assets. Paraph's Team and Business plans add shared controls, banner libraries and campaign workflows. Matching social profile pictures and covers are downloaded and uploaded to the relevant social accounts; they are not automatically posted by Paraph.
